Citroen

In 1919 Citroen were the first European company to begin mass producing cars and in 1937 added vans to their production line.  They have a history of making affordable Quality vans and are today one of the most popular manufacturers in the van market.  The Citroen Range of vans includes the Citroen Berlingo Citroens most successful van ever, the Citroen Nemo awarded “Best New Van” at the 2008 Van Fleet World Honour awards, the Citroen Dispatch awarded “International Van of the Year 2008” at the European Road Transport Show and Citroens largest van the Relay.

Fiat

In 1899 Fiat the Italian automobile manufacturer was founded in Tourino Italy by a group of investors. Their first factory was opened the following year in Corso Dant which went on to manufacture their first light commercial vehicles in 1903. By 1978 Fiat collaborated with the PSA group which comprised of a Peugeot/Citroen partnership to produce their first range of vans known as Sevel. Today the PSA / Fiat joint venture produces some of the most popular commercial vehicles in Europe, with Fiats commercial vehicle division experiencing a 40% growth in sales over the past 4 years.

Fiat cover every sector of the commercial vehicle market and have won multiple awards over Europe for their range of stylish and practical vans which include: the Ducato which is Fiat’s largest Panel van that is available in a range of conversions (tipper, luton, dropside etc). The Scudo which won the International Van of the Year 2008 award, is Fiat’s medium size panel van and the Fiat Doblo Cargo, a Hi-cube van, which is ideally suited to small businesses.

Iveco

Iveco was created on the 1st January 1975 by the merger of 5 companies from Italy, France and Germany. The company is dominated by the Fiat group which is based in Turin, Italy. They have an excellent history of manufacturing both light and heavy goods vehicle throughout Europe. The first van they released was the Iveco Daily in 1978, 30 years later the Daily in its fourth generation is still going strong with one being sold every 5 minutes somewhere in the world.

LDV

LDV was formed in 1993 as Leyland DAF Vans Ltd and in 1996 was acquired by the GAZ Group, Russia’s largest automotive manufacture of light commercial vehicles. The current range of vans offered by LDV are branded as Maxus which were first introduced in 2005. LDV’s current headquarters is in the West Midlands where assembly of the Maxus range of vans takes place.

Mercedes

The Mercedes-Benz brand was formed in Germany in 1926 by the merger of two companies Karl Benz’s and Gottlieb Daimler’s. Mercedes went on to build their first modern van called the L 319 in 1955 and since then have been market leaders in their field. Today over 50 years after the introduction of the L319 Mercedes has 3 high class panel vans on offer the Vito, Sprinter and Vario.
